I have a tiled roof, do I need spare tiles for roof cleaning?
We always work with care, but at the end of the day we’re only human. That’s why we ask that customers have 10 spare roof tiles incase of any cracks while walking on your roof. If you don’t have spare tiles, we’re happy to organise them for you.
What is sarking and why does it matter?
Sarking is a plastic insulation sheet that’s laid under your roof tiles or colorbond sheets. It’s a plastic membrane that acts as a last defence waterproofing layer and aids in reflecting heat. If you have a tiled roof and the rafter length is over 6 metres or the pitch is less than 20°, it’s mandated by the Australian building code that your roof has sarking. If your roof doesn’t fit this criteria, it’s not legally mandated and unfortunately most builders save on the cost. If your roof doesn’t have sarking we may need to line your ceiling with plastic drop sheets as a precaution.
